Purpose
This self-help article will help users to activate their LDAP-Only Service Account.
Requirements
The user of this article must have active O-Key account in order to successfully accomplish the following procedures.
Step-by-Step Procedures
- Access your personal O-Key account.
- On the left-hand side, find and click on the "Service Accounts" link.
- Find the LDAP Service Account you wish to activate and click the "Activate" link.
- On the page that opens:
- The account name will already be populated.
- The username will already be populated.
- The Service Account description will already be populated.
- The Service Account detailed usage section will already be populated.
- In the text box provided, include any additional information that is applicable. If no additional information is required, leave it blank.
- Click the "Next" button.
- Click continue after reading the notice to users.
- The next page in the activation wizard is the “O-Key Password.” You have the choice to use one of the pre-generated passwords or enter your own. NOTE: If entering your own password, please ensure that the password adheres to the published password complexity standards. Please verify that CAPS LOCK is turned off if entering your own password. This page is using the following validation rules:
- "Enter a password that is fifteen characters long, contains at least one special character, at least one capital letter, at least one lower case letter, at least one number, and does not contain dictionary/illegal words."
- If ANY of those rules are violated, a relevant error message will be displayed, such as: "The password entered does not contain a number."
- The next page is the LDAP Only Account Profile. This indicates that you have successfully completed the wizard. The Profile will list all information pertaining to that Service Account. If necessary, share the information with all owners of the account.
Please note that a Secondary Owner is required for all Service Accounts. Please refer to "Service Accounts - FAQ" article on how to add Secondary Owner.
Verification
By following those steps correctly, your LDAP-only Service Account is now active and ready to be utilized.
If you go to your O-Key profile and click "Service Account" menu, you should be able to see that your service account is active.
