Intended Audience: Exchange Web Services (EWS) users
Purpose
This General Documentation article will help Exchange Web Services (EWS) users to see what applications need to migrate to a supported alternative before EWS is retired.
General Information
Microsoft is retiring Exchange Web Services (EWS), a legacy interface used by applications to access Microsoft 365 email and calendar data. Affected applications will need to migrate to Microsoft Graph or a supported alternative.
EWS retirement will be completed on April 1, 2027. After this date, all remaining EWS connections will be blocked.
Here are all applications currently accessible through EWS that must migrate:

- Thunderbird
- Spark
- Aqua Mail
- Fantastical for Mac
- GNOME Evolution
- Re:Work MSAL
- Canary Mail
- Titanium Schedule Calendar Sync
- eM Client
- Mailbird
- OKC Cisco Unity Oath2
- Cronofy
- DavMail
- STW ISUPPORT2
- VMware Boxer
