Questions & Answers

Do former Students retain the use of their okstate.edu email address?

The OSU EIT License with Microsoft  allows graduates to continue the use of their ".okstate.edu" email address after graduation, for life.  There are no features associated with this service; it is an email address. You may access it as you have during your education at any time after graduation.  Students who do not graduate, but simply leave school are not covered, and do not have access to their email once their enrollment has ceased.

Do former Students retain their Office 365 access?

The OSU EIT License with Microsoft does not allow continuous use of the Office 365 suite of software.  Only Outlook access is retained after graduation.  Should a former student require use of any of the other software associated with the Office 365 license, they will need to purchase a subscription.

What Microsoft software is available to former Students?

OSU EIT maintains a license with Microsoft providing Windows 365 and Office 365 to faculty, staff and actively enrolled students.  If our records indicate that a student is a graduate of OSU, and not an actively enrolled student, they are no longer covered by this license agreement. They have access to their Outlook account as a part of the Email for Life program, as a web-based service only.  Outside of that, they are not afforded any Microsoft software past their final graduation date.  OSU EIT is unable to distribute, license, or support Microsoft products usage by any student not actively enrolled.  If they need to purchase Microsoft products, or need support for a Microsoft product, they will need to contact Microsoft, or a Microsoft retailer, directly.
