Purpose
This self-help article will assist end users to change the Phone Password in their IDMS account.
Your Phone Password will be requested by various departments (EIT Helpdesk, Registrar, etc.) to help verify your identity over the phone when discussing private information regarding your account. When selecting a Phone Password, it is important to select a short code or word that you will be able to recall easily and is known only to you. Your Phone Password can be at most 25 characters long and can contain any combination of letters, numbers, or spaces. Your Phone Password must not contain your Login Address, Banner ID, social security number, phone number, name or username. Special characters are not permitted.
Please protect your Phone Password as if it were your credit card number.
Requirements
The user of this article must have an active IDMS account in order to successfully accomplish the following procedures.
Step by Step Procedures

Users have the ability to quickly and easily change their phone passwords for their IDMS accounts. To change your phone password, follow these steps

Log in to your institution's IDMS:

Click on the Change Phone Password link on the left hand side. Read the information presented.

Enter your desired Phone Password. The new phone password can be the same as the last phone password.

Click the save button.
Verification
You will see the phone password change in your account.
You will receive a security notification email to your institutional email address.
