Why is my User Account locking?

Active Directory Lockouts should clear automatically after 5 minutes.

Lockouts are usually due to a portable device, laptop, tablet, or cell phone presenting an invalid wireless password.  Confirm the Customer's O-Key password on mobile devices that access EDUROAM.

Passwords must be updated on any workstation the user is currently logged into, including manually mapped network drives or services running as their account.

If the Incident is an email ticket, send iSupport Correspondence Template titled ‘Random Locking User Account’.  Complete the work history and resolution then assign to Queue-Resolution Confirmation STW-IT-Helpdesk.

How do I determine if a workstation has network/internet access from the login screen?

Check the bottom right corner of the login page to verify if the workstation has network/internet access.  If a Wi-Fi or Ethernet icon is displaying, this signifies the device has network/internet access.

NOTE: If there is no network/internet access, then a globe icon will be displayed with the text "No Internet"

*If connection is Wireless, confirm device access since most recent PW change.  Confirm PW on the Device's EDUROAM connection and recommend the Customer update on all mobile/portable devices.
