How can I block spam or robot calls on a voice over IP phone?

Telecommunications can add a mark spam feature to Cisco IP 8841 & 8851 voice over IP phones models. The mark spam feature can be used to reduce the number of unwanted phone calls received. With this feature, a phone number can be designated as either a potentially fraudulent call or as a telemarketer call. If a call is marked as fraudulent, then the call is declined, and the number is blocked from calling the phone again. If a call is marked as a telemarketer, then the call rings through to the phone, but calls from the marked number display the term “Telemarketer” in the Incoming Call Alert and display an icon next to them in recents.

  • You can view and edit your Spam call list from the Settings menu. The Spam call list can have up to 150 calls.
  • Mark an Unwanted Active Call
  • Mark an Unwanted Video Call
  • Mark an Unwanted Recent Call
  • Remove or Edit a Marked Call
  • Mark an Unwanted Active Call
  • You can mark an active call as either fraudulent or as a telemarketer. This helps reduce the number of unwanted calls. The Spam call list can have up to 150 calls. You can add more than 150 calls, but they won't appear in your list.

What is the difference between a hunt group and a call pick up group?

Hunt Group: Hunt groups are used to deliver phone calls from a telephone number to a group of several phone lines. A hunt group is a set of connections and rules that route incoming calls to a group of users until someone is available, or all users have been tried. If a call is routed through the hunt group and every user is busy, the call is then routed to voicemail.

Call Pick Up Group: Call Pickup Groups allow users to answer a call that is ringing at another extension within that group of phone lines.
