Purpose
This self-help article will assist end users in changing their login address within the IDMS system.
Your login address is your institutional email address, which you use—along with your password—to authenticate into various university systems.
On the Login Address page, you’ll see a list of available options generated from your:
- Legal first name
- Middle name
- Last name
- Username
If you do not go by your legal first name, you can update your preferred first name in IDMS to expand your login address choices.
Requirements
The user of this article must have an active IDMS account in order to successfully accomplish the following procedures.
Step by Step Procedures

Log into your institutions IDMS:

Click on the Change Login Address link on the left hand side.

Choose the login address you want by clicking in the radio button.

Save your changes.
Verification
After updating your login address, please allow 10–20 minutes for the change to take effect before attempting to log in to your email or other university systems.
This delay ensures that all systems have time to synchronize your updated credentials.
