What is spam?

Spam (or junk mail) is unsolicited mail, often about products or services you never signed up for or requested


What is phising mail?

Phishing emails are emails in which a malicious party is trying to steal credentials, financial information, or other sensitive data by impersonation.


How do I report a spam or phishing email that was delivered to my Cowboy Mail account?

Outlook on Desktop and the Web (EIT preferred way to report):

  1. Select the email message.
  2. On the ribbon, choose "Report" OR right click the message and hover over "Report"Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Select:
    • "Junk" for spam or unwanted marketing emails.
    • "Phishing" for emails attempting to steal credentials, financial information, or other sensitive data.
  4. Confirm the report if prompted. The message will be moved to the Junk Email folder.

Outlook on Mobile devices:

  1. Open the message.
  2. Tap the ⋮ (...) menu.
  3. Select "Report Junk" or "Report Phishing"
