Purpose
This article outlines the process for deploying a mapped network drive to Windows device users using a Microsoft Intune configuration policy.
Requirements
- Windows devices enrolled in InTune.
- Users must have access to the InTune Admin Portal.
- Users who require the mapped drive must be members of the Microsoft Entra group assigned to the policy.
- Users must have appropriate Share and NTFS permissions to access the network share.
Step-by-Step Procedures
- Create a New Configuration Profile
- Sign in to the Microsoft Intune Admin Center.
- Navigate to Devices > Configuration.
- Select Create, then select New Policy.
- Configure the following settings:
- Platform: Windows 10 and later
- Profile type: Templates
- Template name: Imported Administrative Templates
- Select Create.
- Configure Drive Mapping
- Enter a profile name.
- Select Next.
- In the left navigation pane, select User Configuration.

- Select Network Drive Mappings.

- Select the desired Drive letter to be mapped.

- In the Drive configuration pane:
- Set the policy to Enabled.
- Enter the UNC path for the network drive (for example, \\server\share).

- Select OK.
- Select Next.
- Configure Scope tags
- Under Scope Tags, select Select scope tags.
- Select the scope tag.
- Select Select.
- Select Next.
- Configure Assignments
- Under Included groups, select Add groups.
- In the search box, enter the name of the Microsoft Entra user group that should receive the drive mapping policy.
- Select the check box next to group name.
- Select Select.
- Select Next.
- Review + Create
- Review the configuration Summary.
- Verify all settings are correct.
- Select Create to deploy the policy.
- Verify Deployment
- Allow the target devices to synchronize with Intune.
- Sign in to a device that is assigned to the policy.
- Open File Explorer and select This PC.
- Verify that the mapped drive appears with the assigned drive letter for users who are members of the assigned Microsoft Entra group.
