Purpose

This article outlines the process for deploying a mapped network drive to Windows device users using a Microsoft Intune configuration policy.

Requirements

Step-by-Step Procedures

1. Create a New Configuration Profile
   1. Sign in to the Microsoft Intune Admin Center.
   2. Navigate to Devices > Configuration​​​​​​.
   3. Select Create, then select New Policy.
   4. Configure the following settings:
      1. Platform: Windows 10 and later
      2. Profile type: Templates
      3. Template name: Imported Administrative Templates
   5. Select Create.
2. Configure Drive Mapping
   1. Enter a profile name.
   2. Select Next.
   3. In the left navigation pane, select User Configuration.
   4. Select Network Drive Mappings.
      
   5. Select the desired Drive letter to be mapped.
   6. In the Drive configuration pane:
      1. Set the policy to Enabled.
      2. Enter the UNC path for the network drive (for example, \\server\share).
   7. Select OK.
   8. Select Next.
3. Configure Scope tags
   1. Under Scope Tags, select Select scope tags.
   2. Select the scope tag.
   3. Select Select.
   4. Select Next.
4. Configure Assignments
   1. Under Included groups, select Add groups.
   2.  In the search box, enter the name of the Microsoft Entra user group that should receive the drive mapping policy.
   3. Select the check box next to group name. 
   4. Select Select.
   5. Select Next.
5. Review  + Create
   1. Review the configuration Summary.
   2. Verify all settings are correct.
   3. Select Create to deploy the policy.
6. Verify Deployment
   1. Allow the target devices to synchronize with Intune.
   2. Sign in to a device that is assigned to the policy.
   3. Open File Explorer and select This PC.
   4. Verify that the mapped drive appears with the assigned drive letter for users who are members of the assigned Microsoft Entra group.
