Overview
Most networked devices will need to communicate with a DHCP server to function in a consistent manner. DHCP reservations ensure that networked devices will have well defined names, receive the same IP address consistently, and are using the correct network.
Features and Benefits
DHCP reservations may be created, modified, or removed. Creating a reservation is often necessary, and gives a unique name and IP address to the networked device. Modifying a reservation is common when an older device is being replaced by a newer one, such as a printer. Devices that will no longer be in service should have their DHCP reservation removed.
