Ethernet Jack Activation is a service that enables wired network connectivity by activating an existing Ethernet wall jack. In cases where no active jack is available at the requested location, this service can also include running new Ethernet drops to provide the necessary connectivity.

Faculty, Staff, and Student Employees. Target audience is ITCs and EIT. Associated campus for this service include OSU Stillwater, OSU Tulsa, and Langston University campuses (Langston Proper, OKC, and Tulsa).
Service Availability
Requests can be submitted 24/7. Once a help ticket is received, initial contact will be made within 1 business day, and the request will be reviewed within 2 business days. For existing Ethernet jacks, activation is typically completed within 5 business days. If a new Ethernet drop is required, a service quote will be provided within 7 to 10 business days. After customer approval of the quote, installation is typically completed within 21 business days.
Fees or Costs Associated with the Service.
There is no cost to activate an existing, functional Ethernet jack. Costs may apply if a new Ethernet drop is required, depending on the installation needs. Most new drops do not exceed $850. All associated costs will be communicated to the customer for approval before any work is scheduled.
