Overview
This service allows authorized faculty and staff to request the addition or removal of the SafeCall feature on campus landline phones managed through the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM). SafeCall provides a one‑touch, dedicated speed dial to OSUPD Dispatch for immediate emergency assistance.
When activated, SafeCall ensures that emergency calls are instantly routed to OSUPD Dispatch, allowing them to hear the call immediately and prioritize the response. This feature supports enhanced campus safety by enabling rapid communication during critical situations.
Features and Benefits
SafeCall users gain a rapid method to alert campus police during critical situations, enhancing overall safety and response times. This will also allow campus police to not only have the location but also the ability to listen in for better situation awareness.
Who is this Service Offering Available to?
Available to authorized OSU law enforcement officers.
Service Availability
Requests can be submitted 24/7; however, they are reviewed between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Requests will be fulfilled within 5 business days.
