🌐 How to Install Google Chrome
Follow the steps below to download and install Google Chrome on your Windows PC, Mac, iPhone/iPad (iOS), or Android device.
ⓘ Before You Begin
- A stable internet connection
- Access to your device's app store or a web browser to download the installer
- At least 5 minutes to complete the installation
💻 Installing Google Chrome on Windows
Estimated time: 3–5 minutes | Requires: Windows 10 or 11
- Open your current web browser (such as Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox).
- Go to google.com/chrome
- Click the Download Chrome button.
- Once the download is complete, locate the file named ChromeSetup.exe in your Downloads folder and double-click it to run it.
- If prompted by Windows asking "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" click Yes.
- Google Chrome will install automatically. Once finished, it will open on its own.
✓ Tip: You can set Chrome as your default browser during setup or later by going to Settings > Default apps in Windows Settings.
🍎 Installing Google Chrome on Mac
Estimated time: 3–5 minutes | Requires: macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
- Open Safari or any other browser on your Mac.
- Go to google.com/chrome
- Click the Download Chrome button. The correct version for your Mac will be selected automatically.
- Open the downloaded file named googlechrome.dmg (found in your Downloads folder).
- In the window that opens, drag the Google Chrome icon into the Applications folder.
- Open your Applications folder and double-click Google Chrome to launch it.
- If you see a message asking if you are sure you want to open it, click Open.
✓ Tip: After installation, you can eject and delete the .dmg file from your Downloads folder — it is no longer needed.
📱 Installing Google Chrome on iPhone / iPad (iOS)
Estimated time: 2–3 minutes | Requires: iOS 16.0 or later
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store (the blue icon with an "A").
- Tap the Search icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Type "Google Chrome" in the search bar and tap Search.
- Tap Google Chrome – The Fast Browser from the results.
- Tap Get, then confirm with your Face ID, Touch ID, or Apple ID password.
- Once installed, tap Open to launch Chrome.
✓ Tip: To make Chrome your default browser on iPhone, go to Settings > Chrome > Default Browser App and select Chrome.
🧠 Installing Google Chrome on Android
Estimated time: 2–3 minutes | Requires: Android 8.0 or later
- On your Android device, open the Google Play Store (the multicolor triangle icon).
- Tap the Search bar at the top of the screen.
- Type "Google Chrome" and tap the search result.
- Tap Install and wait for the download and installation to complete.
- Once installed, tap Open to launch Chrome.
⚠ Note: Google Chrome comes pre-installed on most Android devices. If you already have it, you may just need to update it — open the Google Play Store, search for Chrome, and tap Update if available.
