Use your NEO account safely on a machine that is not yours.

🔑 Signing In Somewhere Public 🕐 ~2 minutes  |  Lab, classroom, library
Everything in Microsoft 365 works in a browser. You never need to install anything or add your account to a machine you do not own.
  1. Use a private or incognito browser window if the computer offers one.
  2. Go to the site you need and sign in with your full NEO email address.
  3. When asked Stay signed in?, choose No.
    • This is the step that matters. Choosing yes leaves your account available to the next person who opens the browser.
  4. Decline any offer to remember your password or save it to the browser.
🚨 Warning: Never add your NEO account to the Windows sign-in of a shared computer, and never set up the Outlook desktop app on one. Both leave your mailbox on that machine after you walk away.

🚪 Signing Out Properly 🕐 ~1 minute  |  Every time
Closing the tab, or even the browser, does not sign you out.
  1. Select your profile picture or initials in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Sign out.
  3. Wait for the sign-out page to appear, then close the browser window completely.
  4. On a lab machine, log out of Windows as well when you leave.
💡 Tip: If you were in a hurry and are not sure whether you signed out, the reliable fix is to change your password. That ends every signed-in session everywhere.

🏠 On Your Own Computer or Phone 🕐 ~2 minutes  |  Personal devices
Using NEO email on a personal device is allowed. A few things are worth knowing.
  1. Use a screen lock with a PIN, password, or fingerprint. It is the only thing between a lost phone and your mailbox.
  2. Keep the device updated.
  3. Remove your NEO account before selling, returning, or handing on the device.
  4. Do not let family members use a profile that is signed in to your NEO account.
🚨 Warning: If a device with your NEO account is lost or stolen, contact the Help Desk at (918) 540-6099 the same day. We can end its sessions remotely, but only once we know.
