🖨️ Add a Campus Printer to Your NEO Computer
Connect to a shared campus printer from a NEO A&M College Windows computer.
✅ Before You Begin
  • You need a NEO-managed Windows computer, signed in with your NEO account
  • You must be on the campus network — either plugged in, or on campus Wi-Fi. This does not work from home without the VPN
  • You need to know which building and room your printer is in
  • 🕐 Estimated time: 2–5 minutes

🔍 Work Out Which Printer You Need 🕐 ~1 minute  |  Campus network required
Campus printers are named after where they are, not after the make and model. Once you know the pattern you can usually pick yours out of the list on sight.
  1. Names are built as NEO_BUILDING_ROOM — for example NEO_MGYM_105 is Main Gym, Room 105.
  2. Some are named after the office rather than a room number, such as NEO_LA_LIB for the Library.
  3. If a name ends in _Copier, it is a multifunction copier rather than a desktop printer.
  4. If you are not sure, look for a label on the printer itself, or ask the person who sits nearest to it.
🖨️ Add the Printer 🕐 ~2 minutes  |  Windows  |  Campus network required
  1. Open File Explorer — the folder icon on your taskbar.
  2. Click into the address bar at the top, type \\NEO-PRINT and press Enter.
  3. A window opens listing every shared campus printer by name.
  4. Find your printer in the list and double-click it.
  5. Windows connects and installs the driver on its own. This takes up to a minute the first time.
  6. When the printer's queue window opens, it is installed and ready.
⚠️ Note: If typing \\NEO-PRINT does nothing, or you are asked for a username and password, you are most likely not on the campus network, or you are signed in to the computer with a non-NEO account. Check both before contacting IT.
⭐ Set It as Your Default 🕐 ~1 minute  |  Windows
  1. Open Settings from the Start menu.
  2. Go to Bluetooth & devices, then Printers & scanners.
  3. Click the printer you just added.
  4. Click Set as default.
💡 Tip: If Windows keeps changing your default back, turn off Let Windows manage my default printer on the same Printers & scanners page.
