Questions & Answers

Who receives access to Adobe Creative Cloud?

Access to the university's institutional license for Adobe Creative Cloud is provided exclusively to full-time faculty and staff.

Do students get access to Adobe Creative Cloud?

Students do not receive individual access to the university's Adobe Creative Cloud license. OSU IT is unable to distribute, license, or provide support for student use under our current licensing agreement.

  • For coursework or student employment: If a student worker needs access to Adobe products for university business, they should contact their department to use university-owned computer labs or access university-owned machines where the sharable software may be installed.
  • For personal use: Students requiring Adobe Creative Cloud for personal projects will need to purchase a subscription directly from Adobe.

Do part time, adjunct, or temporary employees get access to Adobe Creative Cloud?

No. Access is restricted to full-time employees. OSU IT cannot distribute licenses or offer support to part-time, adjunct, temporary, or affiliate employees under the current university contract.

  • For work purposes: Employees needing Adobe products for university business should contact their department to arrange access to university-owned computers with the software installed.
  • Alternative purchasing options: If a department wishes to purchase a separate subscription for a non-full-time employee, they can do so via university business processes. The employee should forward the appropriate information to their departmental approver using the Business Services Software Licensing website. From here the departmental approver will submit a Request Software License form.

Do retirees get access to Adobe Creative Cloud?

Retiree access to the university's Adobe Creative Cloud subscription ends on their final day of employment.

  • Alternative purchasing options: If a retiree needs access for continued affiliation or specific projects, a subscription must be purchased on their behalf by their former college or department. The retiree should forward the relevant details to their dean or department head for processing via the Business Services Software Licensing website. The departmental approver will submit a Request Software License form on the retiree’s behalf.
