Clearing Microsoft Teams Cache
Steps:
Fix Option 1
In Windows, please see steps below.

If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar, and then select Quit.

Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows logo key +R.

-
In the Run dialog box, enter %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams, and then select OK.

-
Delete all files and folders in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams directory.

-
Restart Teams.
Clearing Microsoft Teams Credentials
Steps:
Users experiencing issues logging in the Microsoft Teams desktop app on their machine may need to clear any Microsoft Teams credentials on the machine.
-
Open the control panel app.

-
In the control panel, locate and select the ‘Credential Manager’ setting.

-
Click on the ‘Windows Credentials’ icon.

-
Click on the drop-down arrow for all ‘teams’ items under the “Generic Credentials” section.

Click ‘Remove’ on each Microsoft Teams credential.

Reset Microsoft Teams App via Windows Settings
Steps:
If cache clearing didn’t solve the issue, resetting the app through system settings is another effective method.
- On your device, go to your devices Settings.

- Click "Apps", on the left hand side of your screen.

- Then click "Installed Apps", which should be loacted at the top of your screen.

- Search for Microsoft Teams in the list.

- Click the three-dot menu on the right side of the screen.

- On the drop-down that appears, click "Advanced Options".

- Scroll down to where you see "Reset" and click the button below that labeled "Reset".

Sign Out and Re-Sign In to Microsoft Teams
Steps:
Sometimes the “something went wrong” error is caused by an expired login session or a broken token.

Open Microsoft Teams.

Click your profile icon on the top-right of your screen.

-
On th top-right side of the drop down menu, Select "Sign out".

Close the Teams app completely by clicking the "X" on the top right hand side of your screen.

-
Reopen it and log in again with your O-Key account.
If the problem was due to an authentication glitch, this should fix the error instantly.
Reinstall Microsoft Teams (Clean Install)
Steps:
If the error still persists, a complete reinstall of Teams ensures any corrupted or outdated files are removed.

On your device, go to your devices Settings.

- Click "Apps", on the left hand side of your screen.

- Then click "Installed Apps", which should be loacted at the top of your screen.

- Search for Microsoft Teams in the list.

- Click the three-dot menu on the right side of the screen.

- Click "Uninstall".

Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows logo key +R.

In the Run dialog box, enter %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams, and then select OK.

Delete all files and folders in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams directory.

Visit the official Teams download page and install the latest version.

Launch and sign in.
Run Microsoft Teams as Administrator
Steps:
Some Windows 11/10 systems restrict app permissions, which can trigger unexpected errors.

Right-click the Microsoft Teams shortcut on your desktop or Start Menu.
-
Choose Run as Administrator.
-
Try signing in again.
If Teams isn't allowed to access certain folders or network settings, this might solve the issue.
Disable VPN or Proxy (If Applicable)
Steps:
If you’re using a VPN, proxy, or enterprise network, Teams may be blocked from authenticating correctly, leading to an error.

Temporarily disconnect from any active VPN or proxy.

On your device, go to your devices Settings.

Click "Network & Internet" on the left hand side of your screen.

-
Then click "Proxy", which should be located on the center of your screen.

Turn off Use a proxy server, if it’s enabled.

Restart Teams.
Teams needs a direct, unblocked internet connection to sync and authenticate successfully.
Update Microsoft Teams and Windows
Steps:
Compatibility issues between outdated software versions can also result in an error message.
How to update Teams:

Open Teams.

Click on the three dots to the left of your profile icon on the top right hand side of your screen.

On the drop-down menu click "Settings".

-
Type "About" in the settings seach bar on hte left hand sidde of your screen, then click "About Teams > Version".

Under "Version", you should be able to either update the application, or se what version you are using.

How to update Windows:

On your device, go to Settings.

-
Then on the left hand side of your screen, select "Windows Update".

-
Click Check for updates and install any pending patches.

Reboot your computer.
Staying updated ensures Teams runs smoothly on your system.
Try the Web Version of Microsoft Teams
Steps:
If you urgently need access and none of the above fixes worked, use the web version of Teams.

Go to https://teams.microsoft.com
-
Sign in with your O-Key account.
While this doesn’t fix the desktop error directly, it’s a good temporary solution when dealing with the error.
