This article explains how to map a network drive on your computer.

Step-by-Step Procedures

  1. Locating Network Drive Address on a co-workers computer
    Note: This step is to be performed on a co-workers computer where the drive is currently mapped.
    1. Type Windows PowerShell or CMD in the search box on the taskbar and choose Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt in the results.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    2. Type in net use into Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt and press Enter.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    3. Write down the Remote name. This is the Group Drive address you will need.
  2. Adding a Network Drive to your Computer
    1. If you are not already on OSU's network connect to OSU's VPN.
    2. Open File Explorer from the taskbar or the Start menu or press the Windows logo key.
    3. Select This PC from the left pane. Then, right click This PC, select Map network drive.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    4. When you click Map network drive, you may be prompted with another drop down menu. If so, then from the drop down options, click Map network drive. A new window will open.
    5. In the Folder text box, enter the full network drive path. Check the Connect using different credentials and click Finish.

    6. Enter your O-Key login credentials and click OK.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    7. You are now connected to your network drive. The device must remain on OSU's network or OSU's VPN to stay connected.
