Adjust Audio Settings on the Mitel 6915 Desk Phone
Learn how to adjust the volume for your handset, headset, speaker, and ringer on the Mitel 6915 desk phone at NEO A&M College.
📋 Before You Begin
- You must have a Mitel 6915 desk phone assigned to your office or workspace.
- No internet connection or login credentials are required for this task.
- Estimated time: Under 1 minute
- These instructions apply to the Mitel 6915 running the AT&T Hosted Voice Service (HVS) platform.
📞 Adjusting Handset, Headset, or Speaker Volume ⏱️ Est. Time: Under 1 minute | 🖥️ Device: Mitel 6915
You can independently control the volume for the handset, headset, and speaker on your Mitel 6915 phone. Follow these steps:
- Pick up the handset, put on your headset, or press the Speaker button to begin or be in an active call — or simply have the phone in its idle (on-hook) state.
- Locate the Volume rocker button on the left or right side of the phone body.
- Press the Volume rocker Up (top of the rocker) to increase the volume.
- Press the Volume rocker Down (bottom of the rocker) to decrease the volume.
- Watch the on-screen volume bar — it will display a label showing which audio mode is being adjusted: Handset, Headset, Speaker, or Ringer, depending on what is currently active.
- Continue pressing until you reach a comfortable level. Your settings are saved automatically — no additional steps required.
💡 Tip: The phone remembers your preferred volume level for each audio mode (handset, headset, speaker) separately, so you only need to set it once per mode.
🔔 Adjusting Ringer Volume ⏱️ Est. Time: Under 1 minute | 🖥️ Device: Mitel 6915
To adjust how loud your phone rings when you receive a call, follow these steps:
- Wait for your phone to ring (an incoming call will trigger the ringer) — or ask a colleague to call your extension so you can hear the ringer while adjusting it.
- While the phone is actively ringing, press the Volume rocker Up to increase or Volume rocker Down to decrease the ringer volume.
- The screen will display a Ringer volume bar confirming the adjustment.
- Once you reach the desired level, the setting is saved automatically.
⚠️ Note: You can only adjust the ringer volume while the phone is actively ringing. If you press the Volume rocker when the phone is idle and not in a call, it will adjust the Speaker volume instead.
💡 Tip: If your ringer seems too quiet or too loud, ask a colleague to call you so you can adjust it in real time using the Volume rocker.
