👥 How to Install Microsoft Teams for Work

Follow the steps below to download and install Microsoft Teams on your Windows PC, Mac, iPhone/iPad (iOS), or Android device so you can chat, meet, and collaborate with your colleagues.

ⓘ Before You Begin
  • A stable internet connection
  • Your NEO A&M College email address and password
  • A Microsoft 365 for Work account (provided by NEO A&M IT)
  • At least 5 minutes to complete the installation

💻 Installing Microsoft Teams on Windows

Estimated time: 3–5 minutes  |  Requires: Windows 10 or 11

  1. Open your web browser and go to microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app
  2. Click the Download Teams button under the "For work or school" section.
  3. Once the file downloads, locate Teams_windows_x64.exe in your Downloads folder and double-click it to run it.
  4. If a User Account Control prompt appears, click Yes to allow the installation.
  5. Microsoft Teams will install automatically and launch when complete.
  6. On the sign-in screen, enter your NEO A&M College email address (e.g., yourname@neo.edu) and click Next.
  7. You will be redirected to the NEO login page. Enter your password and click Sign in.
  8. If prompted, choose "Work or school account" to proceed.
  9. Click Done — Teams will open and you are ready to go!
✓ Tip: Teams will automatically start when you log into Windows. You can change this under Settings > General inside the Teams app by toggling off "Auto-start application".

🍎 Installing Microsoft Teams on Mac

Estimated time: 3–5 minutes  |  Requires: macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later

  1. Open Safari or any browser and go to microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app
  2. Click Download Teams under the "For work or school" section. This will download a .pkg file.
  3. Open your Downloads folder and double-click the MicrosoftTeams.pkg file.
  4. The Installer will open. Click Continue, then Install.
  5. Enter your Mac username and password when prompted, then click Install Software.
  6. Click Close when the installation is complete.
  7. Open Microsoft Teams from your Applications folder or Launchpad.
  8. Enter your NEO A&M College email address and click Next.
  9. Sign in with your NEO password on the redirected login page.
⚠ Note: If macOS warns that the installer is from an unidentified developer, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway" to proceed.

📱 Installing Microsoft Teams on iPhone / iPad (iOS)

Estimated time: 2–3 minutes  |  Requires: iOS 16.0 or later

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store (blue icon with an "A").
  2. Tap the Search tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Type "Microsoft Teams" and tap Search.
  4. Find "Microsoft Teams" by Microsoft Corporation and tap Get.
  5. Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password if prompted.
  6. Once installed, tap Open or find the Teams icon on your home screen.
  7. Tap Sign in and enter your NEO A&M College email address.
  8. You will be redirected to the NEO login page — enter your password and tap Sign in.
  9. When asked about notifications, tap Allow so you do not miss any messages or meeting alerts.
✓ Tip: Allow Teams access to your microphone and camera when prompted — these are required to participate in video meetings.

🧠 Installing Microsoft Teams on Android

Estimated time: 2–3 minutes  |  Requires: Android 8.0 or later

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store (colored triangle icon).
  2. Tap the Search bar at the top and type "Microsoft Teams".
  3. Select "Microsoft Teams" by Microsoft Corporation from the results.
  4. Tap the green Install button and wait for the download to finish.
  5. Tap Open once installation is complete.
  6. Tap Sign in and enter your NEO A&M College email address.
  7. You will be redirected to the NEO login page — enter your password and tap Sign in.
  8. Grant permissions for notifications, microphone, and camera when prompted.
✓ Tip: Tap Allow for all permission requests — microphone, camera, and notifications are all needed for full Teams functionality on mobile.
🔒 Using Teams with Your Work Account

When signing in, always use your NEO A&M College email address (yourname@neo.edu) and select "Work or school account" if prompted. Do not use a personal Microsoft account — this ensures you are connected to the correct NEO Teams environment.
