🔄 Convert a NEO Service Account to a Different Type
How a departmental representative can request that an existing NEO service account be converted to a different type.
✅ Before You Begin
Conversions are requested by a departmental representative via email.
Know which service account type you want the account to become.
Gather the current account details and the intended owners before you send the request.
Step 1 — Information to include 🕐 ~10 min
Prepare an email that includes all of the following:
  • An indication that you are requesting a service account (type) conversion.
  • The current name of the service account (AD Username and Email address).
  • The type of service account you want the old account to become.
  • The name and O-Key/AD Username of the intended Primary owner.
  • The name and O-Key/AD Username of the intended Secondary owner(s).
  • The Description you want the service account to have, if different.
  • The Detailed Usage Information you want the service account to have, if different.
Step 2 — Send the request 🕐 ~2 min
Send the completed email to the NEO IT Department at neosuport@neo.edu.
💡 Tip: Including every item above in your first email helps the request get processed without back-and-forth.
What happens next 🕐 varies
Emailing the IT Department generates an incident ticket that is routed to the appropriate personnel. Once processed, the old service account is converted to the type you need, and the person requesting the conversion will be contacted.
