Learn how to adjust the speaker, handset, headset, and ringer volume on your AT&T Mitel 6915 desk phone to suit your workspace.

📋 Before You Begin

  • Your Mitel 6915 desk phone must be plugged in and powered on.
  • No login or credentials are required for this procedure.
  • Estimated time: Less than 1 minute.
  • These steps apply to the AT&T Hosted Voice Service (HVS) Mitel 6915 IP phone.

🔉 Section 1 — Adjusting Speaker, Handset & Headset Volume

You can independently adjust the volume for the speaker, handset, and headset at any time — whether you are on a call or the phone is idle.

  1. During a call or while the phone is idle, locate the Volume rocker on the left or right side of the phone body.
  2. Press the Volume rocker Up (right side) to increase the volume.
  3. Press the Volume rocker Down (left side) to decrease the volume.
  4. Watch the on-screen volume bar — it will display the label Handset, Headset, or Speaker depending on which audio device is currently active.
  5. Adjust until the volume is comfortable. Settings are saved automatically — no additional steps needed.

💡 Tip

Adjusting the volume while on a call changes only the active audio device (handset, headset, or speaker). Adjusting while the phone is idle changes the default volume for the next call.

🔔 Section 2 — Adjusting Ringer Volume

To set the ringer volume, you need to adjust it while the phone is actively ringing. This ensures the volume bar shows the Ringer label on screen.

  1. Wait for or ask someone to call your phone so it begins ringing.
  2. While the phone is ringing, press the Volume rocker Up or Volume rocker Down on the side of the phone.
  3. The on-screen bar will display Ringer — this confirms you are adjusting the correct setting.
  4. Adjust to your preferred ring level. The setting is saved automatically.

💡 Tip

If you cannot hear incoming calls, try adjusting the ringer volume first before reporting a hardware issue to the IT Help Desk.

⚠️ Note

Ringer volume cannot be adjusted while the phone is idle or on a call — it must be done while the phone is actively ringing. If you press the Volume rocker at any other time, you will adjust the handset, headset, or speaker volume instead.
